FAQ
Can Podlaski Attorneys help with construction contracts and construction defect disputes?
Yes. We handle both the contract side and the dispute side of construction work. On the front end, our attorneys draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and warranty terms for property owners, contractors, and construction businesses, with attention to the requirements Indiana law imposes on residential home improvement contracts.
When a project goes wrong, we represent homeowners, property owners, contractors, and subcontractors in disputes over defective or incomplete work, unpaid invoices, delays, mechanic’s liens, and warranty claims, including claims under Indiana’s Home Improvement Contracts Act and consumer protection laws. Because we represent both owners and contractors, we understand how these disputes look from either side of the project.
Our work begins with the contract and the complete project record: estimates, invoices, change orders, photographs, inspection reports, and the communications between the parties. From there we advise on the options available, whether that is a notice or demand letter, negotiation, mediation, or filing or defending a lawsuit.
